Writing Strategies:

1. Tendency [ˈtendənsē]

Part of speech: noun

Indonesian: kecenderungan

Definition: an inclination toward a particular characteristic or type of behavior.

e.g: “for students, there is a tendency to socialize in the things.”

Synonyms: bent, leaning, trend.

 

2. Extent [ikˈstent]

Part of speech: Noun

Indonesian: Tingkat

Definition: the area covered by something.

e.g: “an enclosure ten acres in extent”

Synonyms: area, size, expanse, length, stretch, range

 

3.  Elicit [ēˈlisət]

Part of speech: verb

Indonesian: memperoleh

Definition: evoke or draw out (a response, answer, or fact) from someone in reaction to one's own actions or questions.

e.g: "they invariably elicit exclamations of approval from guests"

Synonyms: obtain, bring out, excite, induce, provoke, squeeze.
